Populating Datatables
We can populate a Datatable in the same basic way as we can Import a List.
To use any of the 4 methods we start in the same way:
- Under: Navigation > Data > Datatables - Right click on the Datatable we just created
- Select Import...
- In the tab that opens we can then select the required method
Linking Datatable Fields to CSV Columns
Once our data has been imported, we can then easily link the fields we created in our Datatable with the columns in our imported CSV by using the same drag-and-drop method we use to link Profile Fields to columns when we Import a List.
Selecting the Has Headers button will ensure that the column names in our selected CSV file are used.
Drag the Datatable fields from the right over to their corresponding CSV columns on the left.
Click Start Import in the bottom right of the screen.
The Datatable we created will now be populated with all the data from our CSV file
We can get a little more control over what happens when running the import by selecting the Import Options button. We can Remove any records from the Datatable that were not inserted or updated by this specific import and also receive a notification email to any addresses that we choose.
Now we have all the product data in our Datatable we can look at using it in our emails.
