SMS registration requirements
Since 1 June 2023, new UK SMS bulk sender filters require us to register any new Sender ID, also known as Originator, with the mobile network operators (MNOs). This process can take 2-3 weeks, in addition to the time taken to set up the virtual mobile number (VMN) required to handle opt-outs as part of basic SMS Configuration.
If requested by Support, the following information needs to be provided in order to register an originator:
- Originator to be registered (must be between 3 and 11 characters, no spaces), if using a custom alphanumeric value in place of the default VMN.
 - The legal company name operating the originator.
 - The country of the operator.
 - URL for the operator's corporate website.
 - Operator's industry vertical.
 - Call-to-action URLs used in messages.
- A primary CTA, and any number of additional.
 - Cannot include URL shortening services.

 - Description of use case.
 - A real example of what an SMS will look like.
 - Estimated monthly volume.

In addition, if the originator is a major financial or government brand, a signed & headed Letter of Authority will be in order to authorise delivery using the company name.
