Platform updates 2016

All new Maxemail versions may include background performance and security improvements. The following notes detail the visible changes to the Maxemail interface and API.

    Rearranged System Toolbar Items to better organise while providing a cleaner look.
  • Removed Properties dialogues for navigation items. Opting instead to place options where they are needed in the interface.
    • Added import history and usage details tabs to Lists and Datatables.
    • Added Activity log to Lists and Datatables.
    • New look and improved intelligence in folder permissions.

  • Tooltips to show type and status of an item in the navigation tree and favourites.
  • Item Tokens available as direct copy-to-clipboard from context toolbar and menu.
  • Locate Template option to view from which template an email was created.

  • Scheduled FTP import always uses a clean-up option (archive or delete).

In line with our ongoing improvements to make using Maxemail easier to use and faster to get around, in this update we introduce two big changes to the user interface designed to help with creating and organising email, content, data and reports.

  • Section Toolbars
    Toolbars heading up each navigation section which offer an alternative to right clicking. Quickly access contextual actions for everything directly in the navigation itself.
  • Inline Create & Export Processes
    Streamlined and moved into the navigation panels, creating items is now more wizard driven than ever before. The same changes have also been applied to the process of exporting keeping everything you need in one place.

    You can now drag emails into, out of and even between split tests. Making organisation simple and giving you the flexibility to work how you want.
  • Email Builder
    Extended width of mobile view in both content and preview tabs. Allows viewing of background colour as would be viewed on larger mobile devices.

  • Send Log now correctly identifies MVT campaign
  • Resolved problem with selecting year in form builder date picker
  • Segmentation UI now correctly loads Provider when editing criteria
  • Resolved issue where scheduling an email builder campaign wouldn't lock the content tab
  • Extended view to allow 'calculating' text to be visible in status bar when 'fetching from FTP'
  • Export PDF option from Insight Report NOW generates even when no data
  • Switched link clicks & 'clicks' columns in comparison report PDF

  • New Navigation Bar
    Brand new look Navigation Bar. Designed in line with other UI changes the new navigation still gives you all the same access to your items but then gets out of your way when you are not using it. This gives you a much greater workspace to use when building your emails, adding your client data or reading your reports.
  • New Favourites Section
    Added to the new Navigation Bar you now have a convenient place to store all your most commonly accessed items. Use it to store anything that you want to get to quickly without needing to go looking for it in the regular navigation sections and folders.

  • Fixed intermittent wrong size issues when displaying images in the content tab
  • Show ruleset rules even if they have no criteria

    • Separated Exporter role allowing it to be granted independently of Standard Customer role
    • Ability to set notification when data is accessed
    • Click-through tracking links are SSL-enabled by default (ie. using https). This does not affect custom domains.

  • Include Outlook 2016 in email clients report
  • Add SHA256 hash to token transforms

:rocket: New Look UI - Stage 1

  • New Theme
    Taking inspiration from material design, the interface has been simplified giving it a cleaner, bolder, more minimalistic design.
  • New Colours
    Introducing new colours, relating to the different sections within Maxemail, makes navigation across the whole platform clearer and more understandable. Only using colour where it adds meaning allows for quicker recognition of open items and means that Maxemail can "get out of your way", only highlighting the significant information you need to know.
  • New Icons
    Reworked icons, simplified with a unified theme. Using bold, simple shapes, to help with fast recognition of different items and tools.
  • Everything where you left it!
    Completely backwards compatible, everything previously created will remain available and can be found in the same places. Existing users can continue to use Maxemail with minimal interruption to their usual working routine.

  • Automatic Name Prefixes
    In both recurring emails and split tests, Maxemail will now automatically prefix the email name with the base campaign title making it easier to distinguish individual sends in places like the dashboard.
  • Organised Recurring Email
    Maxemail now automatically organises your recurring email sends making them easier to review and report on. Options are set to monthly by default but weekly is also a manual option available.
  • Drop Support For IE9
    In line with current Microsoft guidelines, Maxemail is officially no longer supported in IE9.

  • Encrypted URLs with query strings sometimes fail
  • Send log date picker display glitch
  • Email Builder crop tool off by 1 pixel in certain cases
  • Copy split test doesn't select currently active folder
  • Manage tag conflicts
